Dark Souls: Daughters of Ash. What is it?

Have you ever wished you could go back and experience your favourite game for the first time with fresh eyes. Well, while that remains impossible, a dedicated modder has created the next best thing for fans of Dark Souls, the Daughters of Ash mod.Daughters of Ash, is a massive scale re imagining of the Dark Souls universe. Changing story lines, the paths through the game, adding fresh boss fights as well new mechanics to old bosses. As such, players will know the locations to a degree, but that familiarity is of no advantage here, as those that step into this mod will be faced with a wholly different way progress.

I’m sure we all remember the first time that we ran into Smough and Ornstein or challenged Gywn in the cinders of the Kiln. These are moments that have stuck with us as we overcame the challenges posed. Daughters of Ash offers a fresh chance to create new memories in the beloved setting of Lordran. I wont go into spoilers but what I will say is this, if you haven’t played it, do so. You wont regret it.

If you don’t get to play it, go watch a play through and be awed by the wonders the mod creator has wrought with Dark Souls.

As it is a mod, it only exists for PC players and owners of the non remastered Prepare to Die Edition, but if you do get the chance, good luck. Enjoy re-experiencing Dark Souls for the very first time.

Have you played this mod? Put your thoughts in the comments section below.  Oh and one more thing, take care out there, we’d hate to see you go hollow.
